It was an honor to celebrate the International Women's Day, 2025 with Inspirational leaders from our community in Fort McMurray at the Women of Inspiration Gala, organized by Girls Inc in Fort McMurray! It was a star studded event with Paralympic Silver Medalist Lisa DeJong speaking about her journey to the podium! "One more Try" was the word that pushed her to earn her silver medal. When I talked to her, it felt like her magnifying aura touched me with all of her zeal and enigma! The night then proceeded to presentation of "Women of Inspiration" for this year. I was excited to see my friends in the community, my partners at my volunteering work being awarded. I draw inspiration from these ladies, namely Elder Lorraine Albert, Michelle Toner, Dianna De Souza and Chantal Beaver, every day, for their dedication, leadership and impact in our community. It was truly a celebration of strength, resilience and leadership of women across the world!

After a busy season of RRSP, today I hosted a Wills and Estate Planning Event at the Downtown Branch at RBC. Kanan Gandhi, a brilliant Lawyer who grew up in Fort McMurray, joined me for the event and delivered an exceptional and extremely informative session on Estate Planning. We often forget that Estate Planning is an essential part a holistic Financial Plan. A well constructed will, along with Personal Directives and Power of Attorneys can prove to be the best way to make sure your hard earned wealth is rightly preserved and passed on to the right people according to your wish.

Last day for RRSP contribution for income earned in 2024 is March 3rd,2025. An RRSP provides you with important tax advantages. There is the immediate benefit of being able to deduct your RRSP contribution on your income tax return. The higher your marginal tax rate, the more you contribute to your RRSP, the greater the tax benefit. Yes time is limited, but I can help you with your last minute contribution. Being a proud resident of Fort McMurray, I dedicate my time at work and outside work, in empowering my fellow community members with financial knowledge. Happy savings!

RBC Hockey Night!! A favorite night, I cherish always to volunteer. Last night after a busy day at work, I volunteered to be the Official Photographer of the Fort McMurray RBC team. It was a fun night, full of charm and excitement. Little kids ran to Leo, our official mascot for a warm hug! I had a wonderful interaction with community members and spectators from out of town. Oh! And, did I tell you, I got to shake hands with team managers and the referees? I captured the exciting moment when our own Leo and team RBC dropped the puck. I am proud to be a part of our RBC team to hand over a check to the local Food Bank at the arena! It was a fulfilling night to remember!

Today, the Bengali community in Fort McMurray celebrated Vasant Panchami. An auspicious event where the goddess of knowledge and wisdom, of creativity and music is worshipped. Every joyful gathering and prayer in India is always celebrated with Alpona. It is a ritual art form, practiced and celebrated all over India, that symbolizes blessings, purity and prosperity. Alpona art originated in Bengal in India, where I grew up. This art is inspired by the ancient Vedic tradition of creating geometrical and symbolical patterns to represent the cosmic order. I come from a rich heritage of arts and music. Particularly the art of alpona has been been practiced by generations of artists in my family. I am so proud to create a new set of this ancient Alpona for the locals in my community for a joyous celebration of knowledge and art. I thank my friends in the community in Fort McMurray, to have given me the chance to give back to my community through my arts!
