Like any other Bengali girl, growing up in Kolkata in India, I love great comeback stories in the Indian Cricket history. Arguably, the 2001 Test Match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, against Australia, is the biggest comeback till date, in the Indian Cricket History. Demonstrating the Indian Cricket team's resilience, discipline and ability to overcome seemingly impossible odds, this match is considered a turning point in Indian Cricket. Recently the great come back of the S&P 500 reaching new all-time highs after its April lows, reminded me of the above. With this recovery, market sentiment can shift quickly to the upside. With the worst case scenario, in the back, investors get more optimistic to jump back in the market , even though risks loom in the near future. As a Financial Planner, having served in the community as an advisor over the last 20 years, I have noticed that this kind of volatility makes quite a few clients nervous. They tend to sell their investments at a low and then get back at a high. This is where Financial Planning, resilience and discipline is the most needed. Helping and advising our clients, my colleagues, my friends and community members through the roller coasters of the markets is what I live for. My job is made much easier for our partners and leaders like Keith and Marc. Last Tuesday, we hosted a seminar and had great discussion on current market insights, tariffs, geo political situation and Financial Planning strategies in view of the same. Marc Oliveira, Regional Manager of RBC Global Asset Management and Keith Brown, Manager Financial Planning did a great presentation on the above. It was great to hear one very young investment client attending, say " All I heard, was never to take any highs, for granted " I am so thankful for my team and colleagues to be always present and bring forth such a great event in Fort McMurray.
